Large-scale Moscow's Assaults Cut Power In Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure under attack in the region
Ukraine's power facilities have come under increased strikes in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Russian missile and drone strikes have led to electricity outages in multiple districts of the capital city, Kyiv.

Several individuals were injured while residents in eastern neighborhoods were experienced blackouts and dealt with interruptions to water systems, per reports from municipal leaders.

Meanwhile, a young boy was killed in a separate Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia region in the country's south-east, according to local officials.

Russian forces has escalated assaults on power infrastructure over the last fortnight, while the country's government has called for "substantial measures" from international partners to exert influence on Moscow.

"The necessity is not symbolic gestures but strong steps - from the US, Europe and the G7 - in supplying air defence systems and enforcing restrictions," mentioned in a public message.

Authorities reported that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and several dozen projectiles struck energy facilities, labeling such attacks as "premeditated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as the weather cools.

The energy minister said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were laboring to restore power.

A wave of strikes hit power facilities and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Several of the people injured in the strikes on the city have been taken to hospital, according to local officials.

Local officials said the city endured significant strikes overnight. A seven-year-old child lost their life and three other people were wounded.

The strikes succeed evenings of air raids in the territory, sections of which are currently controlled by invading troops.

The whole nation is on alert for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are more difficult to spot.

Government officials told reporters that Moscow was deliberately attempting to destroy the electrical infrastructure, with strikes already impacting gas facilities.

Authorities confirmed utility staff and government agencies were bracing for additional strikes.
